spiritual messengers
angels in disguise
first moon, third day, 2026
this afternoon, i went for a jog out in the cold as i was feeling very inspired. i can’t stop thinking about the future i really want. a future where Liz and i could sit together in a quiet room and make comics side by side. it makes me happy just thinking about it.
near the bridge, after taking a video of myself talking about my goals for the next few years:
snowy glade
a deer with a missing leg
gallops away
nature is beautiful, but also brutal. i felt bad for the deer. i can’t really do anything about it. the only thing i can do was to let nature take its course. one thing i learned though, is that no matter what our circumstances are, the only way there is, is to move forward.
In many cultures, deer are associated with new beginnings and rebirth. If you see a deer, it could be a sign that it’s time to start fresh, let go of the past, and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Trust in the universe and have faith that whatever challenges you face will ultimately lead to personal growth and transformation.

first moon, fourth day, 2026
four and a half years ago, on June 13, 2021, i met some neighbors who managed to take a picture of me while feeding Lupin the squirrel.
i wasn’t aware i was being photographed that day so i was very surprised when they got out of their apartment and approached me. they asked me for my email and what i was about to read later that day really made a lasting impact on me.
it really made me happy. their words inspired me so much that even to this day, they’re one of the things that still drives me into finishing my book.
a few days later, i met with them again and our talks were one of the most memorable conversations i ever had. they inspired a couple of scenes in a wish that bloomed in fall including this one:
today, i decided to reach out to them again after a long, long while. i just want to give their family a copy of my book and also to thank them for inspiring me.
after preparing my gift, i decided to go out for a walk to clear my mind. when i opened our door…
snowy doorstep
a squirrel
waiting for peanuts
i don’t have a video of this moment, but here is a squirrel in snow! :D
first moon, sixth day, 2026
i don’t know where to start but these past four years or so has been very spiritual for me. i went through a lot of transformations. before and during 2020, i’ve almost lost my faith. i just never really liked how my life was turning out. it felt like i wasn’t allowed to be happy. it’s like whenever something good was happening, sooner or later, they always get taken away from me. i have never really got to enjoy the fruits of my labors. but the squirrels came and little by little, my faith grew stronger and stronger. everything i saw always leads back to Him: the angel numbers, the spiritual animals like the herons and doves, the synagogue next to my favorite bridge, meditations, haiku, my neighbor who loves talking about God and nature, and my lovely girlfriend Liz whose faith and love for Christmas saved me from losing hope.
for Christmas, my father gifted me and Liz with two identical rosary bracelets. i went to the snowy bridge this morning to pray to it and thank God for all things he has done. i do not know the exact prayers you need to recite, i’m still relearning my religion, so instead i mentioned ten things i am grateful for in my life. one for each bead.
i am grateful for the foods we’ve received
i am grateful that we have a house
i am grateful for my job
i am grateful for all the beautiful things in this world
i am grateful for all the wonderful connections i made
i am grateful for the squirrels
i am grateful for giving me the courage to be myself
i am grateful for saving me
i am grateful for my girlfriend
and i am grateful for my life

with a mockingbird
If you never see mockingbirds but suddenly notice one watching you as it sings, the universe could be telling you to stay true to your artistic self. The bird is also saying it’s alright to take inspiration from others but with a subtle warning.
